Impartial Committee (IC)

MPOB strives to be a well-known certification body by providing third party certification services to the palm oil industries on Codes of Practice throughout the palm oil supply chain.  Our values define our culture and are inherent in our management system. As a mechanism to safeguard impartiality, MPOB has also appointed an Impartial Committee (IC) to ensure that impartiality is upheld across all schemes that MPOB operates. 

The defined functions of the IC include:

• To assist in developing the policies relating to impartiality of its certification activities.
• To counteract any tendency on the part of MPOB to allow commercial or other considerations to prevent the consistent objective provision of certification activities.

• To advise on matters affecting confidence in certification, including openness and public perception
• To conduct a review, at least once annually, of the impartiality of the audit, certification and decision-making processes of MPOB.
